Default 4L80E 4x4 to 4x2 HELP

Hello all, I have a 4x4 4L80E out of an 2002 2500.
I have been searching for the parts I need to swap it to 4x2.
From what I have read I will need the following:

1. Output shaft
2. Tail housing
3. Some sort of rear plug that has an oil passage in it?

I am having severe trouble sourcing these parts, I am unsuccessful on finding part numbers, and verification of that is all I need. I understand there are various output shaft lengths as well. I have found some parts on ebay even but the lack of knowing exact part numbers have stopped me from buying anything.

Please help me confirm and get some part numbers, even places to source the parts.

Thank you,
Steve

Get the bottom one. The only difference should be the length of the spline.

I don't have part numbers nor do we sell parts, but neither shaft is correct for your model year 4L80E. The bottom shaft has the correct spline length for 2wd, but you need one with NO lube hole which you can see in both shafts above if you look closely. One other item you need to add to your list is the rear planet, the 2wd and 4x4 are different due to the reluctor ring for the rear speed sensor on 2wd models.

You would probably be better off to find a 4x2 i bought mine for like 650 shipped with a warranty for three years.

Awesome! Thanks guys, I think I am on the right track now, picked up a tail housing over the weekend cheap we will see if it is right.

I woulda bought a 2x2 the deal was right and I bought the motor for the complete dropout so I was not sourcing harnesses and accessories. The trans is coming apart for some work so it seems worth a try.

FLT thanks for all your help I'll be sure to keep you in mind when I need some other parts you guys sell.
