Depends on what your Y-merge looks like right now, but I think the one i put one on did require a extra 90* elbow. It's been a few years though, so bear with me!

And a quick google search...

You will need the 3" going into a 3.5".

I used the 3" in y to 4" merge with a dynomax race magmun and piece of 4" pipe ro the axle. after that I used a 4" to 3" adapter to go back to the 3" catback I had in place. There is a huge thread here that PatG started about this.

I have a pacesetter ORY with the FM merge welded in. I ordred the 3" inlet/3.5" outlet FM merge. The exhaust shop was able to cut and chop and put in a reducer without me suppling anything but the merge itself. Any decent exhaust shop should be able to do this with no problem.

I've got some more pics of the same setup in my sig. It made a nice difference in the top end. I bet your setup sounds awesome jetlag!

It definitely helped with the rasp! It is pretty much all gone now and sounds a ton better.

The Pacesetter "merge" is pathetic.

I wouldn't plan on it killing all the rasp unless you dump it like jetlag. Yes the merges that most Y pipes use don't do anything to help it I still feel like its the single 3" pipe going over the axle that rasps it up. My hooker exhaust is a little raspy still. You know, come to think of it, I seem to remember a member here talking about how his 4" mufflex with magnaflow muffler was raspy too.

The merge will help a lot with the rasp. Dumping the exhaust helps to hide it too.
