New Best Stock Internal
Went out to HRP last night...first time out since the Thunder event. The best air seems to come to us on Fridays lately so I missed out on that. The DA was about -200, but the humidity was about 94% and jumped up to 100% an hour later. The scales at the track were not working so I dont have a definate weight, but I would say raceweight was 33xx#. The runs were made on 275/50-15 BFG Comp TA Drag Radials @15psi with the front HALs @2. We only got two passes in as they ran some truck event really late and the lanes were packed. The first run my husband spun a little off the line, then I got in the car and here are the results.
1.518 - 60'
4.639 - 330'
7.308 - 1/8
92.35 - mph
9.620 - 1000'
11.577 - 1/4
114.76 - mph - seems low
I recalled the scanmaster and it showed 906mlv, 1.1*KR. The car was running a little rich for some reason, even after going 1 click lean on the MAFT. So the car still has more in it. I have changed converters twice after having the car tuned to perfection when I had the TCS converter. I now run a YPT4400 and am very happy with it as you can see from the 60' but there may need to be more adjustments made with shift points, and since the converter changes the car has been seeing quit a bit of KR.

That's smokin' for sure Lynda.
A few points of advice...
Determine whether that KR is real or not. If it's false, 1 degree doesn't matter much as long as the total timing advance is where you want it. If it's real, then I wouldn't go leaning the mixture out without first addressing the problem with less timing, better fuel, cooler water and/or air temps, cooler plugs, etc... Whatever it takes to stop the pinging. In my experience, it's better to run less timing advance than to run a fatter mixture so long as the mixture isn't too lean to begin with.
Make changes to timing, mixture, and shift points one at a time so you really know what's doing what. I wouldn't even change both shift points at the same time. One at a time and make multiple runs so that you can average the trap speeds.
Good luck and congrats!

Colonel, I did notice blue smoke coming from the car while traveling down the track under WOT, could there be a change of oil passing the rings and possibly dropping some HP. We have been using Mobile 1 for a while, But i am thinking of changing to something different to see if we can control the oil usage. thanks for all the advice.

I'd bet the smoke (and KR) is coming from the PCV system puking a little oil into the intake. Oil lowers the effective octane of the fuel charge and will cause pinging. You might try some 10w/30-40 of a different brand and see what happens.
Once you get the KR stopped, I'd suggest tuning by trap speed rather than by your O2 sensors.

1.51s are indeed outstanding for drag radials. The biggest key is that you need a GREAT hooking track. I've pullled 1.51s on 275/40/17" Nittos before...and I've pulled 1.8s on slicks before too.

Great times Camaro Cain. I can't believe the 60ft's on a radial. I ran my car twice on a 275/50/15 nitto. I was able to get a 1.70 60ft. I would like to try some BFG drag radials next year. Good luck with the car.

Can you post the full run down of your 11.57 timeslip? Just want to compare if that's ok.
TIA
P.S. I am waiting to see if I can get any better next sunday before I update the SI list, and hopefully next weekend the scales will be working.

Congrats on the new best Lynda ! You need to catch some -1000 DA weather with good dry air. My car hates humidity. Looking at your mph at Thunder and comparing to Wilwaxu, it does seem like your loosing something up top. What is the height of the DR's ? Have tryed running on your old tires ?
