Default Whistler mod help

I can not get the lense off of the headlight. I put the headlight in the oven on 225 for 20 minutes.

That didn't work so I put the oven on 250 for 10 more minutes. Still the lense want budge! I broke some of the plastic housing too.

What do I need to do?

Please help.

Thanks.

make sure you are prying it off in the right spot.

im almost certain that this is your problem: you didnt remove the 4 metal clips holding the lens and housing together.

there are 2 at the top of the light, and 2 at the bottom. just slip a flat head screw driver under them and pry off. do this before putting them in the oven. if you dont do this there is no way you'll be able to pry the lens/housing apart.

Thanks guys. The problem was I was not letting it sit in the oven long enough. 35 min. at 240 degrees did it.

Now I have one more question. Why are there so many spots in the paint? I scuffed up the chrome like the write-up said. Its like you can still see spots of chrome in the black paint.

Once again, thanks.

Man if the second coat doesn't cover up the lil spots. Sand those spots till the shine goes away, then make sure the surface is dry nd clean. Once those steps are done then spray another layer. Should look great after that. oh and I used a hair dryer to dry it ALOT faster. I'm also impatient

Ok so far almost all the little holes have been filled up. I think one more coat should do the trick. It is taking forever for the paint to dry. It has been 4 hours in front of a fan and the paint is still tacky!

Thanks for all the help everyone.

Damn. my lense came off baking at 220 for 20 min with no problems. I used high temp semi-gloss paint on mine. Whistler mod is a must for all 98+ camaros IMO.

^^^^^X2... mine came of easy! I also used high temp gloss black paint on mine. It dried in no time. Then I wet sanded the lenses from 400-2000 grit and used the novus 3 stage kit to finish it off. Never looked better
