Man, that thing pulled away. It must be making some damn good power for a speed like that, too.
Needs driver mod and a real launch. Then, you'll be in the low 10's at least. That is a 9-second trap speed you have there.
That is a pretty damn good run. 137 mph trap speed is just plain sick.

what kind of launch was that?...pathetic
rest of the run wasn't bad though..car def. has potential to run low 10s/high 9s
sounds like he bogged it off the line and it falled on it face, but then it screamed like a banshee afterwards

The kind of launch that doesn't break shit. It is always easy to talk smack when it's not your money.

not sure if that was a drag radial on the back or not but even if it was, with that little of sidewall i imagine it is tough to get 600hp to hook off the line.

Pathetic? The internet is hysterical sometimes. 10.80's @ 137mph are now pathetic. :jest:
That's a wicked car. It looks like it's in street trim too.

I would say his reason for leaving soft was more due to the tire than being scared of breaking something. Maybe you can give him some launching lessons, you seem to have some impressive E.T.s under your belt.

Ahhh, the internet fool that has no idea what he is talking about. How exactly do you get an accurate trap speed through the 1/4 mile off of a dyno? Dynoes measure torque and hp, not E.T. and trap speed, Mr. 1.96 60 ft.:(

Are you serious? Your car is a roach and you're talking about a 10.80
car like that? You don't even have enough power to break anything.
Do you understand what it takes to get that kind of power down on
a tire with very little sidewall...particularly in a Corvette? Take off your
blinders and stop being an internet babbler.
BTW, trap speed is a calculation over the last 66 feet of the track.

I agree there's probably more in it, but damn to not destroy that thin wall tire i give major props! Just because someone is looking for a # on the track doesn't mean they have to cut a light on the tree,

He may be an internet fool, but you're not far behind. You can get fairly accurate simulated 1/4 mile ETs and trap speeds from a dyno.
I've been 10s on an 18" tire, so it's not that hard.

You really need to find something else to do, being half retarded shouldn't be your full time occupation. There are way too many variables to get an accurate 1/4 mile E.T. off of a dyno. Launch (1.4 60 ft vs 2.0 60 ft, ie), weather, track prep, tires (if different then the ones used to dyno.), and wind speed and direction are some of the variables.

That statement fully confirms my suspicion that you're talking out your ass as you have no firsthand experience - otherwise you'd think different.
The dyno told me I would run 11.0 @ 125. I went 10.9 @ 124. Sound fairly accurate to me :takethat:

Just out of curiosity, how would a dyno know the difference between me running a powerglide with a Neil Chance converter and a 31x10.5W (1.3 60')...or whether I was running a stock T-56 with stock F1 tires (2.4 60')? Your dyno racing comments are pretty funny in all honesty. We have guys here who do nothing but bench race, but actually racing
a dyno for ET's is hysterical.

Yeah. I've only been going to the track and racing since I was 19, which happens to be 1/2 my life. I give you valid reasons to why a dyno could not accurately measure track times and you give me one example of a dyno guessitimate.

Moron, I know what the dyno 1/4 mile simulation is and at best it is a rough estimate, it just happen to guess close on your vehicle. One of my good friends owned MTI, here in Houston. They have had a Dyno Jet for about 10 years and I witnessed literally hundreds if not thousands of dyno pulls since I lived about 5 miles away and stopped by there nearly every day they were open.

You didn't answer my question above. Please explain how a dyno would take that scenario into consideration. Also, let's assume that there is a 10mph head wind. Don't copy/paste a link from someone. How about you actually formulate a thought for yourself and expain it. I'm sure it won't be a problem for you since you (apparently) have so much expertise and experience racing dynos. Thanks.
I'd call you a ricer, but at least they actually race...even if it is from a roll. You're getting ET's from a dyno! :jest:

This question?
"Just out of curiosity, how would a dyno know the difference between me running a powerglide with a Neil Chance converter and a 31x10.5W (1.3 60')...or whether I was running a stock T-56 with stock F1 tires (2.4 60')? "
Why would it need to know the difference? It records what it sees. Do you need to inform the timing lights at the track about your setup? Think about what you're asking here, and how it's completely irrelevant.
Funny how you make dyno racing comments, yet you post a dyno number in your sig with no ETs.
It's OK, you can turn a blind eye to what you don't know...

It is very relevant to know what your 60 ft. would be in order to determine your ET at the track. You should call the NHRA and ask them to shut down their tracks and just install dynoes instead, because according to you dynoes can calculate that stuff accurately. LOL.:eek2:

I know the 60' impacts the ET. Are you not aware that a 1/4 mile simulation on a dyno is just that? A full simulation? You actually launch the car while on the dyno and run through all the gears. It records the 60' I may be a dyno racer, but you still haven no idea what you're talking about.

Ok the guys talking about the pathetic launch need to get a life. or go get a c6 z06 with this same set up and tire and do better. I didn't think the launch was terrible. The guy definitely didn't pussy foot the launch. Just sounded like the rpm he launched at the car dead hooked, then took off like a bat outta hell. that's certainly a better run the 90% of the people I see at the track with STOCK z06's, who spin and misshift their way to 12 second passes in a solid 11 second car.
