New car but I hate the exhaust!!!
I just purchased another new toy for myself. It has the Loud mouth exhaust on it. I HATE IT. I know it flows good but sounds horrible in my opinion. It sounds like straight pipes with no muffler. What can I replace it with that sounds more mellow but has decent flow? I love the sound of flowmaster but I have been told that its not a good muffler for performance. Any input?

You could try the Powerflo setup. It's just a Loudmouth, with extra mufflers in the tailpipes. http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/...oducts_id=2417
You can just buy the mufflers from it to convert your Loudmouth system to the Powerflo. http://www.slponline.com/view_product.asp?P=31086

Just depends on how much you wanna spend I guess. How loud do you really want it? Try to catch some cruise-ins, take a listen for yourself before spending cash. I love my Borla but I guess it's too loud for some people.

if you like flowmaster you can do duals with single chamber flowmasters, its just the catback that sucks
but IMO if you want something that sounds best true duals are the way to go anyway, I wouldn't waste time and money trying to find a catback that I personally would never be as happy with
I agree about the loudmouth too, and it just goes all the hell with longtubes and offroad y

When I bought my T/A at the start of the summer it had a Gen 1 Loudmouth setup on it. I got a loud exhaust ticket -- the rest of the car was stock at the time! -- and decided to go with Magnaflow because I knew headers and a converter would be going in as well.
The Magnaflow is much more controllable as far as noise level. I can go part-throttle and coast through neighborhoods silently. The Loudmouth was loud all the time. The Magnaflow has a higher-pitched tone than the Loudmouth but WOT volume sounds great on the inside, and not overly loud on the outside.

Go to LS1sounds.com and take a listen.
Personally, the LM systems have a great design that allows you to stick a racing muffler in place of the resonator instead of buying a whole new system. I have LT's, ORY, and a LM2 system and I hate the rasp. Down low it sounds mean, and up top it SCREAMS (the 2 things i love) but that rasp is just obnoxious, so this winter i'm going with a Borla XR-1 muffler to get rid of the rasp and get more of a "growl" to it.
When I bought the car it had a Magnaflow system on it. Sounded good. Nice deep tone driving around and then it would scream at high RPMS (w/ the LT's and ORY) but it was just too quiet for me.
I would recommend the Magnaflow though, but if you wanna do that, get the magnaflow racing muffler to stick in place of the resonator on the i-pipe

Flowmaster is what I had for almost a year...thought it sounded like ****...especially on an LT1
GMMG may not bw qhat you want if you don't like loud exhaust-it's a dual highflow chambered muffler setup that can be very loud if you have cutouts.
Borla sounds good, but is expensive and I've never figured out why. Plus ive never liked the weirdo tips they have. sounds really good by It's like $800...?
Magnaflow is half the price and is quiter, good flowing, and looks great too.
