Okay I had a DMH E-cutout installed about 3 months back and it has developed a very annoying and loud rattle.

I'm not exactly sure what the source is but if it is a simple fix please for the love of god tell me what it is.

I know for sure its coming from the DMH cutout. When the car is first started for the day the rattle isnt present. After a few minutes it starts to rattle. I noticed that it does not rattle when the car is at around 1200+ rpm's in fact if i slightly put on the gas past idle it stops...

Anyone had this problem? Is there anything I can do? I want to say im 90% sure its the electric motor or moving face plate that is making the noise...

Any help would be great because im about to rip the fuckerr off.

Have you gone under the car to check the cutout?

The motor doesn't really do anything if it's not
energized. If there is any lash in the gearhead
and no "windup" tension, it's possible for it to
rattle.

You could smear a thin layer of high temp RTV
onto the body seating circle to muffle the noise.

You might want to check that nothing mechanical
has come loose, like the gearhead from the motor
or the butterfly shaft.

Adding a "helper" spring to the plate, is an option.

My McCord has a limit switch that depowers the
motor when closed position is reached. If you do
too, check that it isn't giving up early.

what's rattling? the butterfly plate? or is the cutout vibrating against the bottom of the car?

You might try taking it off and verifying it is indeed the cutout. If it is, send it in to Dave and he'll take care of you no questions asked. After all, he does have the best warranty you can get in a cutout. After three years of heavy use, my motor bolts backed out and it literally fell off while I was driving. I never found it, but he had me send in the flange and he replaced the motor at no cose to me. He didn't ask questions, just told me to send it to him and he'd make it right. Can't ask for better customer service!

Ok so I decided to take the motor/butterfly plate out from under the car and noticed that the butterfly plate will wiggle back and forth a little bit. Is there anyway to tighten it up? That's the only thing that I noticed was loose. Btw when the motörhead/butterfly plate was takenoff I started the car and rattle was gone.

Also what is this lashing and tension from the gearhead not exactly sure I'm getting what your saying
