Talking Need help choosing a build!

Hello all, I am trying to debate what to build for an engine setup. my car right now is a LS1 with PRC Stage 1 LS6 heads, MS4 cam, LS6 intake and a TNT 150 wet nitrous kit.
Here's my question. I came into some money and I'm deciding what to build. I have 3 choices that I've thought of so far.

1. A 457 HKE built long block from CC Performance Parts
2. A 408 with a KYTP twin turbo build
3. A 418 built LS3 with a 250 shot on it.

Also I have a strong rearend and I would like to leave the car a 6 speed, but if i went the twin turbo route I would get a 4L80E if its feasible.

I have roughtly $27,000 to spend. Let me know. Also I dont wanna buy someone's car as mine is a low mileage car and its Mystic Teal and I love that color.

Does anyone think I can get into the 8's for this kinda money?

Give me some help people. I came here to ask because this site has some of the smartest people I've seen

Thanks once again, James

We'd love the chance to earn your business! What are your goals (any specific track time or dyno numbers you want to hit)? What kind of bolt-ons mods do you have so far?

Feel free to shoot me a PM, email or call and we can discuss your build and I'll email you a detailed quote!

Street car only: 422ci resleeved LS2 block + single 91mm turbo and keep A/C...800-1,000 RWHP

Drag car only: 434ci LSX iron + 6 bolt heads + 400 shot......8 second car

Street/Strip/top-end monster: 408ci LSX iron block + 6 bolt heads + single 98mm turbo and keep A/C....1,200-1,500 RWHP highway killer, motorcycle rapist and still run 9's at the track.

Have fun...........

Matt from texas speed. I bought all my parts from you guys and love the car now. Just car is fast but seems slow for driving it for 3 years with this setup. lol

Yes it sounds stupid to blow 27 grand, but i wanted a C6 Z06 and thought i would be better just modding mine instead of buying the Z and modding it.

Does anyone think I can get into the 8's with this kinda money?

I want something that is nasty fast. I like having the 6 speed, but I also realize its extremely difficult to go that fast with one.

LS6427 that 408 with a 98mm turbo sounds badass. I dont need to keep ac as I dont have it on the car now

Anymore help would be appreciated as this is a big decision

Thanks again James

You don't need 27 grand. Our 460 with a 200 shot should do the trick. OUR HKE engines are some of the best combinations money can buy and it doesn't break the bank to own one.

IMO It comes down to n/a vs FI. I'm old school and think a n/a build is better. Anyone can force air through and engine and make it run quick. But run 9's n/a ... in a 3300 lb car you drive to work.... That to me is the best combo. But I can certainly understand the "want" for an LSX 434 with a couple twins

Whether your looking for a 347 build for a small 50 shot or an LSX 434 built for 36#'s of boost.... We build them all..I just like big cube n/a builds

The engine is part of it suspension is the other part. Madman can get it to hook and we can certianly build it for all the power you need. Whats race weight? I can put you into the 460 for $16700 and you've got 10k left over for suspension, trans and rear.

A 416 would be about $11500 built for an F1A

Right now the car weighs about 3400. I planned on dropping some more weight out of it. I will already have the rearend setup just not sure what gears to go with but it will be an M9 with 35 spline axles. I was really wanting to go 8's. Do you think i could with the 460 and a 200 shot. Also how reliable is this motor? That may sound like a dumb question but If i'm gonna spend this kinda money I dont wanna be having to worry about rebuilding it.

Thanks for your reply 99blancoSS

Yes I think it's possible. The little brother of this engine ran 9.4 at 3300 lbs. It was a 445 all n/a. We've added 15 cubic inches and the ability to run a 200 shot.

Longevity comes down to tuning in most cases and lets face it n2o can destroy anything in the wrong hands.

When Erik and I sat down to plan this engine out it was for my personal car and was the last engine I would ever put in it. I wanted maximum hp and not to worry about it ever. There are engines that are on the edge but we do not build them. Erik takes a solid approach and does not deviate, his reputation speaks for itself.

I would have to save enough money for a killer paint job and a no holds barred MadMan Suspention before I went wild and blew it all on twin turbo blower motor.

I would go with an LSx block with that kind of money, bored to a 454ci. Big power N/A and some serious power adder(300shot) for tearing up the track, and some bikes on the highway!!

Keep us updated!

I would go with a big bore engine N/A or get a turbo or a maggie for instant torque. The procharger/vortech setups build psi with rpm so imho, they wouldn't be nearly as fun on the street. Lots of lowend and midrange torque is what makes a fun street car!
