Default Good LSx shops in San Antonio

I just moved down here and need to find a good shop to take my car to in the event that I need something done or a tune. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

just had a clutch install at Henderson 3 weeks ago

I was less than impressed. Corey was not in town. My car smoked all over New Braunfels when I left for Houston. Both Coolant and Oil Temps Pegged. I barely made the car back to the shop. Smoke everywhere, oil eakingl. They did not install the dipstick and other parts properly. I had an EMS follow me, after just 1 mile to Rudy's BBQ, they stopped me and were worried that I could catch on fire.

Before this, I drove the car all the way from Houston, even with all the great c5 guys(England Green, Gforce, Pavloc) beacuse my family lives in that area. I heard great info, have detailed quotes in my email from both Lethal and Henderson that I can post for my car

I broke the clutch in, 400 miles on the highway, 250 miles on the Houston Streets. They resurfaced the stock flywheel. Car was chattering, rocking all over, hope it settles in. I figured 600+miles is a good break in.

Not biased to any one shop, though I do have an EG tune and will have an EG RPM rear end. However, I will probalby be going back to Gfrorce soon for more power.

Allen Nelson with Nelson Performance is very good. Mainly known for fast LSX Trucks, he installs a bunch of supercharger and turbo kits. Good tuner.

I go to Henderson Performance for all my cars and they do a great job. What kind of clutch did you put in the car? Wouldn't surprise me if you put a puck style clutch in a stock car like a lot of people on here do and expect it to have good driveability on the street! I dont care how many miles you put on a puck clutch it will always chatter on engagement. Yes it sucks they forgot the dipstick tube but rather the dipstick tube than diff fluid or engine oil!

Spec 3, and I have had a few cars with spec 3's. Not Fbodys or c5's, but I know what to expect.

I have only used England Green on my dyno tune and rear end since they ran a crazy special on Corvette Forum, both at the exact time that I needed a dyno tune, and when I broke my car. They do a great job, but I will be returning my car back to GForce for more power in the near future. England Green is great, just very expensive, and nobody has quicker customer service than Robert and his team at Gforce. I am sure Corey is a great guy, but I was not impressed by the shop or experience. Neither England Green or GForce would hand over a car to me that would smoke heavily and leak fluids after a swap. Just my opinion
Both times I have had my car worked on at GForce and EG in Houston, the experience was flawless.

I did talk to Pavlock last week for head/cam swap. I was pleased with the response. I also did talk to Icon a while back, but more than likely, my car will return back to EG or GForce, both are great shops, it just comes down to customer service and price.

It's really hard to beat the shops in the Houston area.

I have Fuel Injection Specialties doing a Th-400 swap on my car next week. We will see how it turns out. I have been impressed with what they are telling me so far but the proof is in the work. Are there any other shops around here? I would just hate to drive all the way back to Fort Worth to get my car tuned every time that I change something....
