Default RPM 4l60e stage 5 *** In here***

i have had this tranny for about a year. on the bottle was making 561/ 555 through the vig 3800 converter... i am planning on a 402 and a D1 procharger with goals of 650+ what do u all thing about how this tranny will hold up?

Thanks.. and i used the search button but never found an anwser i was really looking for

Scooter RPM builds nice stuff. However if it were my vehicle and i was going to race it, I would probably look into having it refreshed and have a billet output shaft installed. Give the guys a call and see what they think. Vince

Thanks, there has been a few people tell me the trany wont hold the power i will be making (600-700) area its a 98 so 14.7psi will be all it makes for now.. some have thought the 4l80e or th400 would do better?????? im not sure as i like to drive the car ....

No doubt that a Th400 or an 80 would be stronger however that would involve doing the conversion and also dealing with the different gear ratio's. The 80 would be much heavier however it can be built to be very strong and you will retain the OD that most like. If you stay with the 60 you will probably have to have it refreshed once a year or every other year. I know that they offer a freshen up policy and that is why I suggested contacting them. I know that FLT and RPM have pushed these 60's deep into the 9's so it can be done. Best of luck with your build. Vince Bielanski
