Default Cat / Y pipe question

Will a 2002 Stock cats / Y pipe work on a 99 T /a with factory manifolds?

Basically what I am asking are the 98-99 Manifolds able to bolt up with a 2002 and up factory cat / y pipe set up?

Thanks

What are the differences? I was looking to get a used set of shorty headers or the later 2000 -2002 manifolds for my car but I am wondering what the differences are. If the manifolds will bolt right up thats perfect. I am guessing juts the EGR is the difference?

Are you sure about that Senical? The manifold on the passenger side of the 98-99 seems to turn down and out behind the #8 spark plug. On the 00-02 the turndown is further forward, between cyls 6 and 8. This is why the people with the later set-ups find it easier to access the number 8 plug from the bottom of the car.

As far as the drivers side, it will come dawn in the same location and actually uses the same cat through all of the LS1 model years.

On the 98-99 cars the cat is built into the Y pipe and located under the pasenger floor.

On the 00-02 cars the starboard side cat is mounted right at the end of the manifold much like the drivers side.

my ls1 before i have now was a 98 z28. i installed full exhaust. longtubes to catback. a couple years ago i had to sell the car. i took off all the aftermarket stuff including the whole exhaust ect. i bought a y pipe from a guy on here from a 01-02 car. I reused my manifolds from my 98.bolted up the ypipe from the 01-02 and just left the magnaflow catback on there. i needed just the y pipe because i trashed it when i did my header install in 06. i didnt have any problems so thats why i think it will work. but hey who knows?
