How I painted my rear bow tie black.

How I painted my rear bow tie black. Some one asked me on how i did it so here is a quick write up for anyone else that might be thinking of doing it.
I am lazy and I suck at sticking things back on straight so I didn't even take the bow tie off of the car.
What I used:
Painters Tape.
Thick brown packing paper the one on the big rolls - any paper that would not allow paint through it should do.
Duplicolor canister of black auto spray paint same color code as my body paint.
Small piece of sand paper.
First use the tape to tape off the silver trim on the bow tie so you do not paint it.
Then use the paper and tape to cover the rest of your trunk, bumper, spoiler.
Make sure there are no holes so you don't paint any part of your car.
I wish I took a photo of this as it looked pretty funny.
Basically all I saw was the bow tie and the whole *** of the car was covered by paper. Yeah I went a little crazy with the paper but I did not want to accidentally spray anything else.
I sanded the clear part of the bow tie a bit with fine sand paper so the paint sticks to it. Clean it after sanding with wet paper towel.
Take a few practice tries with the spray can on a piece of paper to get a feel for it.
I did three coats waiting about 10-15 min after each.
I was going to clear coat it as well, but I kinda like how it looked so I left it as is.
Here is the final result.

I'd say the taping off of the silver trim piece took the longest as I had to make sure the tape stayed only onto it and not on the clear plastic. And those angles don't make it easy.

That was my original plan and I was like, has to be an easier way. Yours ended up far smoother than mine though. Looks great. I'm jealous of the black car, that''s for sure.
