I agree that those plates are not the most attractive looking things out there but I must admit that when I first opened the thread and saw it I'd gotten a kind of warm/fuzzy feeling of nostalgia from when I was a kid going to NYC and seeing that last generation of orange and black (or were they orange and blue?) plates for the first time.
