I'm runnig 17" drag radials at present. Best track time is 11.15 @119 w. 1.53 60'. If I go to 15" tires and skinnies will it get me enough to break into the 10s? I let off the gas at the top end prior to the traps so it would have been a little faster, but just based on that, will going to 15" get me there?

If you are still running a stock wheel on the front it should be pretty easy to dip into the tens with a lighter 15" drag setup. It's usually a solid 2 tenth gain going from heavy stock wheels to some big n' littles.

We need more info... What is the current tire size, rear gear, transmission type, etc? What tire do you plan on running on the 15 in rear? Why did you let out on the pass above? Too much gear? Just because? All of these will be important in helping decide.

Just based on weight savings alone, however, they should get you close...

+1 to Ray's comments. Alot of those are a big factor in tire/wheel size selection.

currently running 275/40/17 (26" tall) rear and 255/40/17 front . I have a barley used set of 275/60/15 rears that I used on my 69 camaro that I would like to use (28"tall). I'm running FLT 4l60e level 5 with strange 12 bolt W/3.90. The reason I lifted was (1) because I new it was a fast run and I thought for a second they were going to throw me out for no roll bar, so I lifted and then said the hell with it. (2)This was the first time out with the new rear and suspension set up also, so it was a huge difference from the 11: 70 it ran before. I've run a best MPH @ 123 with the new rear. This is also a full weight car, nothing removed even run with the spare.
