Default Replacing axle bearings, condition of axle ok? *pic*

Before I get started putting the new bearings in on my axles I wanted some advice as to whether the condition of the groove where the bearing sits is in good enough condition. As you can see there is minor pitting on the one end and it appears that the groove actually tapers to a smaller diameter on that end. Should I purchase new axles or is the condition of this one sufficient to re use with the new bearings?

Thank you

That axleshaft is scrap, it has broke thru the case hardening and needs to be replaced.

That looks terrible. its not supposed to be pitted like that. A new bearing may last a while though. Just dont expect 200k out of it.

Ummm replace that... shouldn't be such a pronounced groove. Plus any pitting is an automatic replacement IMO.
