I tried everything to pass CT emissions... nothing worked. On Saturday I fianally drove the 2+ hours to have tuned by Don. Holy crap, what a difference. Not only did it easily pass emissions, but now have more low-end power, and better gas mileage. As you can tell by my signature, I've had quite a few mods, but the best one I've had (by far) is the tune I got from Don @ Slowhawk Performance :hail: Thanks Don... you da man!

Good to hear.
My car just passed again last week.

Still gotta figure out how to keep O2's alive in my car though. Seems like it throws an O2 code every month.

Awesome thanks Don. Hopoefully in the spring I'll have a couple other little things you can do for me too, try to get it all done at once.

More info on your setup if you don't mind, I also have a d1sc curious where I might be once it is tuned...

Don do you actually have to tune a car differently if it has to pass inspection vs if it doesnt matter? Or does cleaner emissions usually just go hand in hand with a more efficient engine.

My tunes include a garrenty to pass the plug in test.We get alot of cars in New England that don't pass this test from shops that have no idea of what it takes in a tune to pass.

The car posted needed this but really needed to be tuned right also.

hey on a swapped car like the RX7 do they give you any problems about it or have you not crossed that bridge yet?

I see alot of guys with newer odb2 cars that swap LS motors, but I could never figure out how they pass ...

Lol I brought it to the inspection station with these resonators on it.

It was loud, and I towed it there. So it was a big production getting it inspected. They coudlent figure out why it was so loud. They were looking under the car for exhaust leaks and what not. They asked me if it had cats and I just said they were built into the header collectors Lol which had them scratching their heads, But they couldent technically figure a reason to fail me (I gues they never deal with loud cars so they prob didnt remember they could fail me just for noise). so they just shook their head and thrw a sticker on it. Lol

I got lucky although my car is a little much for any street duty. A clean swapped FD with a semi quiet exhaust would prob pass easy. Everywhere I go even with my shit box, mechanics/techs love it and usually are willing to help out so passing inspection shouldent be a cake walk but it shouldent be too bad either.

Its much easier now with older cars, because theres no sniffer test any more.. nor any emissions test of any kind for cars older than 96. For newer cars, dons gotta work his magic a bit more.

Sounds good man... a great tune keeps a ProCharged LS1 really happy! My GTO's tune hasn't been touched in years and the car gets faster each time I track it....

I've been preaching Don's Tuning abilities for years to the LSX crowd... near and far when I travel to other drag strips..

Enjoy it before the snow hits!
