New guy in TX (Intro w/ pics)
(Ok, apparently this site was in the mood to run slow and promptly deleted my previous attempt at an intro.)
Hey everyone,
I live in Fort Worth, Tx (Eagle Mountain) and a couple months back bought a 2004 CTS-V with 26k miles on it. The car is black over tan, UUC shifter, cat-back borla, not a single door ding, and the only damage is from the previous owners encounters with curbs.
I plan on doing a few performance mods but first replacing mounts, researching recalls, replacing the stupid radio buttons, locating a full sized spare (and jack kit), and eventually upgrading the clutch. Wheel hop will also be addressed somewhere in there.
The other thing I need to do is get to the bottom of the mutilation to the sound system the orig owner did when he/she installed the aftermarket subs in the trunk. The only way I discovered this was from the dynomat that melted off the roof of the trunk in the Texas heat and I found 2 gage wire behind the seats. The sound system in its current state is extremely lacking of bass although this might just be stock. I am not looking for the kind of bass that two 12s would provide but I would like a well balanced and quality system.
I plan on utilzing the search function as much as possible and hopefully will keep my stupid question count to a minimum. I look forward to getting to know other V owners and hopefully there will be some Texas get togethers in the near future.

I'm with Jon. Those tips look ridiculous that big.
This photo made it to my desktop though. Nice pics & welcome.

In regards to the UUC shifter, previous owner installed it, I know it is better than stock, and for now it is staying. Before I went to the effort to switch it out I would want to feel the difference because it seems like there are some group differences of opinion.
Now, exhaust tips. Are they a tad large? Maybe. Am I going to go to the effort to switch them out? No. To each his own, flame away, but I don't dislike them enough to do anything about them. Now, if it was a dodge neon with 115hp with 5in tips and I was some punk kid, that would be another story.

Thanks everyone for the kind words on the photos. I am completely down with doing a DFW meet for photos and beers. I have been wanting to do some nighttime urban shots so if we had a small group interested in doing a late night photo cruise I would be down. Might have to wait until after the new year but we can play it by ear. No need to get any cash together just buy me a beer. What I would likely do is just edit up the photos and anyone who went out I would send them the high res copy to print at their favorite location.
