Default FYI : Head stud shortage

Called several places today to locate ARP head studs, and everyone was out. I even called ARP, and they are not currently producing the LS1 studs. Finally found a set at Jegs. They have 1 set left.

You could also order a set from Dave (Formulation).

Check the FI forums, he has some custom studs that are stronger then the ARPs.

Ryan, glad to see you found studs. Now all you need to do is get the new heads out of hock an you'll be all set for this weekend. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Tell me about it... I ordered some from Summit about a month ago, and they took ~2 weeks to come in; the Summit rep was telling me that the entire shipment of LS1 studs that they were expecting from ARP would go to fill back orders.

Actually the last run of 20 sets we did was with another company called A1 Technologies, they do all of Katechs C5R head studs and all their other fasteners, also alot of pro race teams(top fuel on down) I have 12 sets left and they are ready to ship, also the lube I use is better than what ARP supplies(more consistant/uniform clamping force) they are H-11 material rated at 260-265,000 psi T/S...very strong, recommended torue spec is 80 ft/lbs this will provide about 15-16,000 lbs of clamping force. Let me know if you need a set at indacalinc@attbi.com , they run $375 shipped. Thanks Dave

Jegs has them in stock for 222.49 part number 070-234-4110, there website pulls that up as a main stud, but if you call it is the Hex Head Studs. These are getting hard to find.
