Default Help with new tires for Stock 10 Spokes.

hey guys, I am soon to be in the market for new tires. I have a 2000 Z28 with Stock SS 10 spoke wheels, I have 275/40/17 Summotios in the rear and 245/40/17 Kuhmos in the front. I have been thing of the what setup up I want to do for all new tires and what I have considered is to put either a 245 again or 275 NITTO in front and a 275 or maybe a 295+ MT Radial/Street tire(Depending what can fit in the rear.) What is the biggest size tire that I can fit in the rear on that 10 spoke rim??(I am aware of the safety issues that I have read about putting a 315+ on that rim)

What I am looking for is some advice on how this possible set-up would work well? Where is the best place to order tires for the best price? I am not planing to change wheels, because I plan to have my 10 Spokes Powder Coated Gloss Black.

Any advice or info would be very helpful.

I'd recommend 275/40/17 tires all the way around, maybe a 285/40/17 tire in the rear.

That's actually MY set up!

Much easier than trying to get those 315's to work!

I only had to tap the rear inner fenders on three little places with a 5 lb hammer for the 285 Eagle F1 GS D3's to fit out back...

After I got back from the tire store, I just removed the rims then whacked where the shinny spots were and (Ta-Da!) rubbing fixed!

Having said that, I do have an adjustable PRB to center the rear end too.

Do they make a 285 MT for 17inch??

Also, How well would it be for a 275 Nitto in Front and a 275 or 285 MT in the Rear?

What the best place to order these Nittos and MT's??

Tirerack.com or SummitRacing.com

Just run 275s all the way around, a 285 is only going to cost more and not provide that much more traction surface as a 315 would.

Do you plan to drive on a Nitto drag radial on a daily basis? I'd strongly suggest against it unless you live in the desert. Whatever you do dont run Sumitomos again, that is the biggest POS tire for these cars. Stick with Goodyear or BFG.

My set-up would be a 275 Nitto in front and a 275 MT in the rear. This car would be a DD(Sometimes)/Weekend Driver.

dont use a MT on the rear of a weekend/daily driver, save those for show/track cars. if you want a good combo, run Nittos all around with the NT 05s up front and 555Rs in the back

Why do people put 245 on the front of their SS's?

i run 275 nitto 555s up front and 285 nitto 555s out back on my 10 spokes
i would run nitto nt555 non DR all the way around, your gonna get alot more miles out of them, plus the non DR are a lil wider than the 555r

Put 285 in the back, they look way nicer than the 275 and you can try some Nittos for that !!! I had 275 in the front before but if feels nicer to drive with 245 (275 tend to move your car with the pattern of the road) but it's your call, both will work fine in the front

Here are the tires I bought for the front: http://www.onlinetires.com/products/...z-iii+98y.html

^^These tires look crazy, the tread is really cool looking. I don't have them on the car yet, due to still having the car in storage for winter. So I have them stored in my basement of my house.

I am still looking for suggestions for new rear tires. I am still not sure if I should go with a 275, 285 or 295. I am thinking either to go with Nitto NT555R or MT Drag Radial. Can suggestions or info on the best place to order them from for the best deal would be greatly appreciated.
