Default 4l80 4wd to 2wd wiring...

2000 4l80e- I have converted my 4wd tranny to 2wd by having the output shaft and tail housing switched up. If I remember right, the second speed sensor is on the transfer case. I highly doubt gm used the same sensor in the xfer case as in the trans... Has anyone switched this up before? What did you do with your harness? Thanks ahead of time, John

I haven't actually started my engine and drove the car yet (still working on the wiring harness) but the harness for my 2006 Sierra 2500HD (with 4L80E) had an extension for the rear speed sensor. The extension was female on one side and male on the other, and the plugs were the same as the speed sensors... very similar to the O2 sensor extensions... it just lets you move the sensor farther back. I am betting that the VSS sensors are the same.

The VSS are the same. Just add the trail housing, tone rine, and the VSS. Its in it in the 2x4 models and its in the transfer case tail housing in the 4x4 ones.
