Default New Catback/Muffler?

I have a 99 Z with FLP LTs with the cats that come with the kit and a flowmaster catback with the 80 seriers muffler(I know that the muffler sucks) and a cutout. I plan on doing a H/C/I at the first of the year and was wondering what everyones' opinion was on my exhaust. Should I just get a y-pipe custom with hi-flow cats and just change the muffler on my system to a hooker or magnaflow? I have read alot on the flowmaster merge, is it recommended?

random tech cats are the freest flowing, WS6Store sells them. if you want to go a little cheaper, bullet cats are your best option. a pair should run you 60-120 bucks
