Friend spraying his truck, but seems wierd
I have a friend that has a '04 Dodge Ram (he's not a gear head, actually told me his 4 door truck weighed 1,700lbs) and we were talking about our cars. He said he was spraying the original engine but blew the head gasket twice so the shop he took it to said lets do this right. So he got a crate engine. Now the funny part is he's doing a dry shot with a push button. He says he hits the button once he hits the pedal and says it probably starts spraying at 1700rpm.
Even worse is it's a 100 dry shot not in front of the MAF but the shop drilled into his intake to put the shot there.
This is all wrong isn't it? I know the push button is pretty bad but a dry shot post MAF is even worse. How long do you give his engine?
I tried telling him what to do but he says it works great like this so I just left it at that. He thought I was crazy for have a window switch do it all for me.

LOL, I tried. When I go back to Houston we're going to the track on Dec 18th and he said he wants to race me at HRP. I was already going but I got to see this setup. He was atleast honest and said it's a redneck install.

Yes your friend is going to screw up his engine. He needs to start spraying around 3k and if he doesnt spray a dry shot before the maf its going to run crazy lean and screw everything up. Tell you friend to quit being dumb and read up on stuff before he does it, or you can let him make a couple thousand dollar mistake..

Have a hard time thinking a non gear head would have a kit on his truck....
100 bucks says he dont show up or has a reason the kit is no longer on his truck....
Non Gear heads dont buy "Crate Motors" and install N20 .....Something just dont add up here

And there's probably tons of people who buy crate engines or even different motors that haven't a clue about them other than it has X amount of HP over their stock engine.
I hope you're right though.
