Question I downshifted and nothing...

I have an RPM Stage IV 4l60E in my 02C5. I had to down shift to help me slow down. Did not want to burn up my breaks coming down a mountain road. After that I went back up a few months later and as I down shifted it seem that the car was in neutral. Meaning there was not tranny breaking action as I went from D to 3, 2, 1.

Now she drives fine, no slippage, shift points are good, no over heating issues on the 1st mountain run or any time after or before can any one give me any advice. I am running a Vigi 3400 stall with the transmission.

Thanks

Engine braking would be somewhat limited with the high stall converter however you should have some. I would suspect and issue with either the overun clutch or overun clutch hub.

Thanks do not know much about trannies so if you could teach me a little more explaining what they do and where they are located. The Tranny has a warranty so I am not too worried. Less than a year old. About 7 months old to be exact.
