General Maintenance & Repairs - Help...

My '99 camaro SS gets driven about 5 times a month. I left my driveway changing into 2nd gear and the throttle just goes crazy hitting the rev limiter by itself... Today I drove it just to see what will happen again it does'nt do it but my engine was spark knocking and my SES was blinking like 5 times. And it just does'nt have the power like it use... I come to a stop & my car idles @ 300 400 like it wants to cut-off... Please help thanks..

You mean you were giving it normal throttle pedal to "casually" go into 2nd gear....and the rpm's went to red line????

There is only one possible way that can happen.....your throttle blade opened fully. There is no other way that can happen.

Unless there's a black hole on your intake that is opening and closing by itself....but it would have sucked you into it as well.....lol
