Ok so i took my camaro into a service place because my passenger side front is lower and my driver side rear is up higher, I asked them to check and see if it was the spring or strut,They are trying to say its both and want like $750 to repair it all. I think its just the spring anyone else have an ideal? Also i'd like to keep the stock ride height..

Also they said the rear shocks need replacing, And they said they use sensatrac struts. Pls. any help would be appreciated...

They are clubbing you over the head... sensatrac are a downgrade, I'd like to see the labor rate they are charging for the rear.

Buy a set of new shocks: $400
Rent A Spring Compressor: Free
Buy Some Tools: $100(Maybe Free If You Have Them Already)

You really need to search, thats how most of these cars sit from the factory, and springs or shocks (our cars don't have struts) wont change that. No reason to go replacing things twice either, its not hurting you driving the car the way it is right now. If you want better shocks and springs for a better stance, handling and ride quality then save up for them and do it once.

Get the car on a scale and find out what the weight of the car is at each wheel.

I dont think my problem is just they come that way, I mean the car sat just fine then the front just dipped, I dont see too many other camaros around here doing the lean.
I'm not ruling it out by no means, But it looks awful too look at..

99 out of 100 fbodys lean. Only problem is the passenger side rear is the one that sags. How many miles are on your shocks and springs? if its a lot, you probably need new ones.

Check you front and rear sway bar mounts, and endlinks for damage, and loose and/or missing nuts/bolts. What's the cast and camber setting on your alignment? Does the car pull to one side now, how does car respond now to bad roads, the same as before?

Car has 91k miles on it, not sure since i just got it back in june. My brother in law thinks its the springs and not the struts, I'll check the swaybar bolts tomorrow. Cast and camber i would assume were stock settings but cant rule out since just getting the car...
But what im prolly asking is what would be changed first springs,strut,shocks...

Firstly our cars don't have struts, they are shocks front and rear.
Next, the shock itself won't effect right height. It is possible your springs could be sagging, and causing the car to lean but I doubt it considering that most of the cars lean from the factory at least a little, and that doesn't change when aftermarket springs are added (or the springs are swapped left to right).
If I were you I just wouldn't be paying anyone for new stock springs and installation when it probably wont fix anything.

adj panhard only changes the centering of the rear axle...has nothing to do with body height.

and as stated...shocks have nothing to do with ride height...they just dampen the spring action of the springs...they don't hold up anything.

Yes. Shocks and phb don't effect height. Springs do. These cars always lean a little.

Whatever you do, don't bring the car back to that mechanic. They have no clue what they are talking about. Sensatracs are cheap pieces of crap

If you just leave your car as it is, nothing bad is going to happen. It's pretty normal. If you want to try to fix that for visual reasons, I suggest a good set of springs that have had consistent ride heights. Stay away from Eibach, those seem to lean a lot. I suggest Strano springs.

mine was a easy fix QA1 coilovers! they cost like 420$ and 30-45 mins to install. adjust to what ride height you want

in all fairness...the mechanic may not have been a total idiot.

yes those parts probably need replacing due to age/miles.

he suggested those shocks because that's what the shop sells. vast majority of shops are not performance oriented...they are "old lady who wants a smooth ride for low cost" oriented.


now thinking the old shocks are the reason for the lean...well...that's not so intelligent

You may want to search before you blindly buy some coil overs.
For starters QA1s (no matter the series) are drag shocks and valved for drag racing. This means you will be left with a floaty, disconnected handling and a choppy, jarring ride.
If you want to do coil overs look into possibly Edelbrock IAS or a custom setup(ground control?).
