Default Slave Cylinder disassembly

I am trying to take apart my slave cylinder so that I can remove the spring so I can measure to see if I need to shim the slave cylinder for the clutch. but I have pulled on it and the dang thing wont come apart.

Is there any trick to it?

Thanks,
Berto

Wow this must be a pretty in depth procedure if 43 people have viewed it and no one responded?

If you look at the slave there is a spot that looks like it has a grind mark on it. Put a screw driver on that spot and gently pry and work the throw out bearing off.
