Like everyone else my visor broke without even touching it the other day. I know the mount itself is not that expensive but i manage to fix mine and it only cost me a quarter :)
I drilled a small hole in a quarter put a screw through it and tightened it up, works perfect.

Key word is fraudulently. That means he did it with the intent to defraud. He did it to fix a visor not pass it off to gain something. What he did is not illegal.

It may be ghetto, but it worked perfect :D
I used a quarter because i could not find a washer that size with a small hole in my house.

I don't think so. Last i looked gas is almost $3 a gallon, so that trip to Home Depot would cost more than a quarter:P
Anyway the next time your visor falls on your lap while your driving you will think of this post, LoL ;)

You stole the words out of my mouth. Nothing was done to defraud anyone or anything therefore you can destroy any money you want as long as your not doing it in an attempt at fraud...

I agree. The only illegal part would be if he tried to spend it after defacing it. Until then it''s his to do with as he pleases.
Here is an old thread (from 2004) on repairing the visor:

(Page2 has pictures)
This thread uses a washer.

Old thread but this was very useful to me for my visor repair, a big thanks to Blue2KTA for providing this information.
Considering that the OEM wants $157 for a replacement I would like to nominate this for sticky.

I did this a few years ago. I used a fender washer. But instead of just using a sheet metal screw tap it out to a machine screw thread.
