Smile Indulge me

This is just a pipe dream of mine that I hope will someday come true after I get done with school. Here's my question: How much do you guys think it would cost me to get a forged 347 motor with all supporting mods and a procharger in my car? I'm talking parts, labor, and everything out the door. Just wondering if anyone else has done this and taken it to a shop. Of course, I would take it to a reputable place somewhere here in Texas. Please indulge me with a ballpark figure of what you think it might cost if you have an educated opinion. THANKS!

$15K

for minimal amount more $$ you could go with a bigger motor like an ls2 based stroker and make more power.

15k sounds about right to start.

Thanks for the replies guys! Does that $15k number include a new rear end? Is there another way to create power (like around 600 hp) for cheaper and still keep it pretty streetable?

I was estimating 5k for the forgerd motor, 5k for the turbo set-up, and 5k for install and other misc stuff. Very rough figure as you can tell

I think ypu can you can do it a little cheaper maybe. LPP will sell and install a D1SCfor about 8K This includes all fueling upgrades and tune IIRC. That leaves you 7K for the SB and install.
