I finally had the oppurtunity to make a few passes down the track to see what I could manage out of my street car. I drove to the track swapped tires and hoped I wouldn't leave a trail of driveline parts behind me. The car is a C5 Z06 with stock suspension, full weight with nothing removed running on a set of very old set of 26" ET streets.

60'.............1.84
330............4.59
1/8............6.76
MPH..........111.61
1000..........8.61
1/4...........10.13
MPH..........149.36

As you can tell by the 60' the launch was very soft in fear of breaking. Do you think the 1/8 MPH is influenced by the poor launch? I would have thought my 1/8 MPH to be higher relative to my final trap speed. I think next time I'm going to try a set of 28" tires combined with some more seat time to get me into the 9's! Anyone want to guess what's possible with a decent 60'?

Thanks

Yeah your 1/8 is greatly influenced by that soft of a launch. That mph is good for LOW 6s. That is hauling some major ass on the back end.

You'd better flip that number back over LOL . . . To the OP yes 60' influences 1/8 mph. I trap 3 mph less than you at the 1/8 and 60' over a half second faster . Boy do the tables turn after the 1/8 tho' boy she's storming out the back door.

Yup that's me:) Novi supercharger on a 402ci!
I've seen timeslips where others are trapping higher than me in the 1/8 but less in the 1/4. That's why I ask with a harder launch will my 1/8 mph increase? Also, the rule of thumb is for every .10 in your 60' you gain .15 at the top. Is this correct? If I can achieve a 1.54 60' I should see .45 off my current best and that would bring me to a 9.68!!!

Well RobZ has run 9.33 with his vette and he has about 250 less hp than you. He has perfected his setup but here is a video of him. You should have no problem running 9's with some more seat time.

I'm using a spec twin disk clutch and others have reported it doesn't slip, but I will try it next time. Getting off the line in one piece is always a concern, but on the highway this car really shines!

Thanks guys!

I run a tex twin in mine, same problem.Trust me,leave at 5Kplus and dont dump it,Ease it out,it WILL slip slightly and your 60s will come down as well ! 10.09 at 140+ with a 1.53 60 and my wife drives it all the time, you wont hurt it(well at least TOO much):burn:

Boosted with a soft launch.Kinda cool to see some of the all motor cars with 4 links that cut 1.2x 60s and trap about 128 or so.His trap on a NON IRS car would be mid/low nines no problem, with a six speed, its gonna take some work. Damn you six speed guys ! :hail:

Wow that trap speed i would guess low 9s and high 8s if you could keep it all together on a hard launch.
