gears before converter?
I have a 2002 Camaro SS A4. I am going to be putting a 3600 stall on it in the near future. I have the stock trans and 10 bolt still, would it be a good idea to put new gears in it (4:10's) before doing the new converter? Im still kidna new to the whole A4 Torque converter stuff.

I did my converter first. But I don't think it matters. Lower number gears are gonna make the converter less driveable. So with factory gears you may see 3k to accelerate with traffic. When you swap to 4.10s you will see dramatically reduced rpm during normal driving, in the above scenario, you may barely get to 2k with normal acceleration and 4.10s.

I know some autos with 4.10s that like em. I personally think they would be too much for my taste. I went with 3.73s and kinda wish now I woulda went 3.90s for that little extra SOTP feel.
