Question Transmission Help 4L60e

My brothers transmission is playing out I believe. It has a broken transmission mount and it wont drive in neither D, but if we put it in 1 or 2 it will move. Is it the transmission, something to do with the rear end, or something else. Thanks

We believe it was a shift kit on it becuase it had a real nasty 1-2 shift that would chirp the tires and sometimes the 2-3 would also? Depending on whats wrong with it, would he need to get another shift kit or could he reuse the old one?

when my tranny went, most of the sprag was in the pan and converter

If you have it rebuilt, calm the 1-2 shift down as it will harm the input sprag. You may have to replace the seperater plate and install a new kit if some one made it too agressive, and the parts weren't sold with the car. After the rebuild, adjust the shifts with a tuning devise-mild for regular cruising. Firmer for WOT.

Good Luck.

The 1-2 shift was mild at part throttle and would only chirp the tires at WOT. Thanks guys very helpful.
