Default 19 inch rims - Tork Revos tire size assistance

So i purchased some rims because the deal was simply too good to pass up.
The guy selling the rims didn't even know what they were, only that they were bolted to his 94 trans am.

due to help on this site, i found out they were Tork Revos.
here are the specs on the revos off the website.

Size: 19x8 bolt pattern 120 lip 2" offset 35mm
Back tires:
Size 19x9 bot pattern 120 lip 3.25" offset 40mm

here are the odd things:
on all four tires he was running 265/30/19
on the back 19x9 the inside of both tires had been rubbed enough almost to take about a inch of tread off the tire. the rims weren't rubbing but I bet he was driving around rubbing the entire time? that is my assumption.

so my question- what size of tires should i buy - I simply want these rims to fit without having to add spacers. I'm okay with doing the BFH mod.

If you want to keep it at stock tire height front, and rear: 245/35/19s(front), and 275/30/19s(rears).

Or as a staggered height option you can go with a 275/35/19s (rear).

Was he seriously running 165 width tires or did you mean 265?

with a 40mm offset on a 9 inch wheel there should be no reason to rub on the inside. especially running a 265. outside maybe, but not inside. TT2s have a 44mm offset and even with 315s most report no rubbing.

I was hoping to run into someone running that setup on Evos.
you think 275/30/19 all around?
or should i go with 245/35/19 in the front and 275/30/19 in the back?

Additionally how is the ride? I have level II bilstein suspension package that came with the firehawk and it is rough...im worried once I put on the 19s it will be too much. (currently on 17s)

I had 19x9.5 HP evos and ran a 275/30/19 tire on all four corners as well. I rolled the rear fender only slightly and didn't have any issues.

Well, on a 8" rim, I'd run 255s at most. As for the ride, it is going to be rougher since the tire sidewall plays a role in overall suspension rate. If you go with a softer sidewall, you run the risk of damaging the wheel due to the short sidewall if you hit a hard bump.

It's all a compromise. Worst case scenario, run it as it sits now and see if you like it. If it's ok, then swap a new set of tires on. If you don't like it, sell the wheels and get a set of 18s that have more of a sidewall.

I think I'm gonna go with a slightly staggered look of 245/35/19 and then 275/35/19 in the back. That way I get a little more sidewall than I would if I ran 30s in the back. It will be two weeks or so before I get them together, but I'll post pics and how the ride turned out.

that sounds like a good plan. alchemist said everything just right. i think a 35" sidewall is very good choice. i wish i could run that on my car, but i cant cuz its too low. also, the ride will be much rougher cuz of the lack of sidewall. another thing to consider, my front rims love to follow all the grooves in the road. it gives me a hard time, so going with 245s in the front instead of 275s will help eliminate that for you. so like i said, good choices.

Yeah I hope its not too rough. I am going to place the order tomorrow I think. 245/35/19 in front and 275/35/19 in back- I shouldn't have rubbing with that right? the extra 30->35 in the back shouldnt be a problem? My car is not lowered currently. I also think the extra sidewall might help fill out hte wheel well a little better, so it wont look like the rims are too big.

It's going to look really good with the staggered tire sidewall heights!
I've got mine done that way with 18's.

One other thing that got brought up- will this create any problem with the ABS? I really don't want to compromise that.

It might, but I've haven't had any problems. I set the tire size with my programmer at about 26", right between the front and rear tire height.

You could try the same thing, if you need to. You would want to set yours at about 26.15" or for tire size put in 305/30/19 which is = to 26.15".
