They come in pretty rich from the factory and the different intake will skew the maf reading enough to lean them up a good bit at WOT. This is usually a good amount of the power gained on a stock car. Put one on a tuned car and watch it gain about 8hp.

Any pics? Interested to see where they are getting the air since it wont be from that Mustang-esq fake scoop sitting on the front bumper.

Reluctant to wade through pages of camaro5 nut swinging. Id rather get my info here.

I wonder if they are talking flywheel HP and the Vararam's that have been tested require a tune. So that's 40 hp with an intake and tune. That would make sense since I gained 14 RWHP with a tune which comes out to around 24 FWHP.

They said 40+.

If they vararam made 40hp nobody would buy any other intake from anybody else. Plus they were claiming 40hp on a dyno.

I don't think they are talking about peak hp but rather 40hp somewhere between 2500-3500 where the stock pcm(tm) is reducing power.

14rwhp would be closer to 17-18fwhp, not 24! 24 at the crank going down to 14 at the tire would be along the lines of 40% drive-train loss!

Then the guy doing the math was wrong. I thought he came out with about 445 HP after the tune.

Where is it pulling the air into those boxes from? Did you cut open the front scoop? Is it pulling the air through the hood cracks?

You tilt the radiator back, 3 1/2 " and the unit fits in the gap and that is how the air gets in.

Interesting. As long as its outside the engine bay air I'm sure it makes a big difference. Especially with IATs. Dyno, schmyno, Im sure that thing will help restore a ton of timing pulled power just like the VRam did with the GTOs.

Not a chance.

But, those intakes are a fairly decent gain over stock.

They are just a pain to install.

How do you know that do you have one "or" are you a CAI engineer.

And this unit is as fast to install as any CAI, It was a 10 min install and most of that was removing the old air box.
