Default Can anyone lend a hand on NW side of SA town?

Hey y'all, my parents gave me a '98 Catera and soon afterwards it started over heating and losing coolant and really, I am not mechanically inclined enough to really know what to look for and was wondering if anyone wouldn't mind helping me take a look at it one of these days and point me in the right direction. I live in Boerne (kind of out there a little ways) but I'll take ya to lunch or something. Call or text me at 830 446 2728 if you think you would be able and willing to take a looksy. Or just shoot me a pm. Thanks in advance guys I appreciate it tremendously. Jon

i really can't, i have tried to get under there with a black light, but wasn't able to pin point anything. I put a bottle of that stop leak stuff in there, but IDK if it really works.

It could be alot of things, but start with the simple stuff first. check the radiator cap for a messed up cap.

That stop leak hurts it more than it helps it. It clogs every pore the radiator or waterpump has not to mention the cyliner heads. If it was already clogged a bit inside it must of completely clogged it. Too bad you are in s.a, There is a salvage yard out here that has two Catera's 97 and 98 model complete. They have the radiator's, water pump and complete drivetrain. By the way the Catera's are nice! I own a 2001 model. You should do a pressure test on the radiator to see where the leak is if it has one. Check the engien oil and see if it has any water in the oil. Boy... are they fun to work on!
