I'll be goin 370 just for the simple fact that it can be cheaper to build yourself & will still make plenty of power. With the 370 you can reuse the stock crank which saves you from buying a aftermarket 4" stroke crank. Just bore the 6.0 block out .030", buy pistons/rods & your done minus your typical studs/bolting upgrades, bearing & rings.
I have heard also that a stock stroke motor will last longer than one with 4"+ crank. Not sure how much truth there is to this as I have never owned or built a stroker motor myself(yet, LOL). If some of the more experience guys would chime in on this it would be nice. This was a concern to me cause my car is & will continue to be daily driven.
I was also on the fence about 383 or 370. Since I already have a extra LS1 block I seriously thought about goin 383, but after looking around & weighing options I decided to go 370. You get the benefit of the iron block & like stated can re-use the stock crank if you buy a used short block in good condition.

My plans are to use the stock block, and just send it to the machine shop for bore and stroke. Then buy the 383 rotating assembly (and shoot for 9:1 comp with the pistons) with a 228 cam and still keep my 5.3L heads from Texas speed, and still keep my ls6 intake. Any personal experience would be great! I'm sure there are several people on the fence with this.

Clean up your 346. Use the stock crank. Put good rods, and pistons. Use the money that you save for a set of AFR heads and stud kit. Throw in an LS6 cam. 346 is a good match for that turbo. Should have mid 9 sec potential once you put an auto in it with some high boost.

Ok thanks for all the help, after researching I can get a 6.0 (370 ci) short block for $3,100 new, get a custom cam, reuse my ls6 intake, and 5.3 L heads from TSP, this gives me the added dependability of the new iron block for a little more than cleaning up my motor by leaving me the option of selling my short block somewhere. Any thoughts?
