Default Spindles, Forged steel?

Anyone know if our spindles (98-02) are forged steel? Or cast iron?

they're cast iron....you can remove one of the front wheels (or even turn it full-stop to one side or another), then look at the spindle.....you will see the casting line running down the spindle, a clear indicator that they're cast. i don't remember at the moment if they run down the middle, or down the sides, but it shouldn't be too difficult to see them if you have enough light.

There's no way they'd make a spindle out of cast iron. Cast steel perhaps.

Racers have been heating and bending steering arms for decades. Iron wouldn't take it.

^^True. Cast Iron would crack or break if you tried heating and bending it
