Talking my new ls1

hi guys i just bought my new ls1 camaro z28 m6 after selling the stang gt 4,6 and my old lt1

i well change the oil tomorrow how many quarts or liters the LS1 motor hold?

the preview owner said its year 2000 but the door sticker said 1999/3

If your car is full at 5.5 quarts after an oil change, you didn't drain all of the oil out. EVERY f-body LS1 takes 6 quarts as stated in the GM service manual.

To determine what year it is look at the emissions/ drive belt diagram sticker on the shock tower under the hood. It will say "this vehicle conforms to the 2000 (or 1999) model year emissions standards. Plus if the car is stock the 00 will have a 4 spoke steering wheel versus the 99's 2 spoke steering wheel.

congrats! prepare for a fast, safe, reliable car. My old z28 has 133,000 miles and never let me down, still going strong today.
