Default Interesting nose...

What does anybody know about the nose on this car? The pic is from firebirdgallery.com. On the site, there's two cars like this but no mention of the nose. One of the cars is a Carl Black edition with Year One stuff.

Um...that's a Firehawk. The hood if from SLP and the front bumper cover/fascia had to be slightly modified in order for the hood to close fully.

yeah. its not the nose that looks different, its the firehawk hood. the nose/bumper is just a regular firebird/formula bumper.

Like said before, that's a Firehawk Formula. The front bumper cover has been slightly altered to accept the hood, but only slightly.
Damn sexy if you ask me.

Not that exact hood... anymore... that I'm aware of.
Google image the Suncoast Raptor hood and the Superhawk hood (also, to my knowledge, no longer made). These are your closest to the one pictured above.
If you got a stock Firehawk hood you'd need to modify your front bumper a bit so it'd sit flush.

That’s interesting. Looking at firehawk.com, there’s several hundred Fire Hawks listed with photos and only a handful have this nose, maybe 10 percent. Most Fire Hawks have the regular nose.

There’s no mention in any descriptions of the different nose. It’s the different bumper cover with the outboard fog lights and round corner light that I’m talking about, not the hood.

At firehawk.org, most of the cars have the regular nose. It shows a 1999 Fire Hawk Pilot with the different nose. There’s also this 1998 car.

I’d still like more info about these. Was it a special order that could be added to a Fire Hawk? Can this bumper cover be found today?

All Firehawk Formula's from 98-02 had that "look". The TAs had the same hood, but stock bumper I believe.

To get that bumper cover you either have to modify a stock Formy bumper, or find a wrecked/parts Firehawk. Good luck with that. If you do find one, it sure will be $$$!

Hey Super thanks for the info BUT I’m still mystified by this. If it was a Fire Hawk bumper cover, why did only a handful of Fire Hawks have them? How did a person order or receive a Fire Hawk with this bumper cover?

As most Fire Hawks have the regular nose, I’m thinking this bumper cover was NOT part of the Fire Hawk package and somehow the owner ordered it.

How is this mystical to you? It's a FORMULA turned into a FIREHAWK model.

x2.
Whats so confusing?
Firebird Formula:

+ Firehawk package = Formula Firehawk:

No different than taking the base TransAm and making it a Firehawk.

im amazed this isnt common f-body knowledge. i guess you arent aware that there were firehawk FORMULAS made as well as firehawk TRANS AMS? thereby having 2 different bumpers? not every firehawk was a formula. the trans am was more popular, as it had more options, so of course youd see it more often. just looking at the special edition section of tech will show you there are firehawk formulas AND trans ams.

case in point, look at these 2 posts. first guy has a firehawk trans am. look at his sig pic. trans am bumper, hawk hood:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/5179415-post3.html

this guy has a firehawk formula. now look at his sig pic. formula bumper, hawk hood:

Allright, I've got it now, thanks guys. I guess I've been so conditioned to seeing T/A style bumper covers that I thought they were all like that. I like this bumper cover much more than the T/A style.

It's GM part 12335524 somewhere around $350.00.

Glad you got it all straightened up. You were confusing me for a second there and I was beginning to wonder if you knew something I didn't.

I believe that's the part number for the V6/Formy front end.
The bumper in pics on the Firehawks, like said previously "look" like the standard bumper, but have been slightly modified to accept the hood.
To my knowledge, you cannot purchase that bumper cover (pictured on Firehawks not the basemodel Formulas).
You'll need to find a wrecked Firehawk that's being parted out or something.
Good luck.

Keep in mind guys the Firehawk originally was only available on the Formula model `91-97.
`99 was the first year that the Pkg was made available on the Trans Am

Formys are the orig race car package!!!
