Introductions & Greetings - Greetings from Upstate NY

I've been reading posts since 2002, but just recently registered. I bought a used 1998 Z28 with a 4l60e from the Chevy dealer I work for ( as a tech for 12 years)in 2002 and have been enjoying it ever since. I bracket race it at Lebanon Valley Dragway, having won the Street class the past two years. It is mostly stock, except for the free mods( found on this site), 3.73 gears with a beefed up Auburn posi, subframe connectors & lower control arms from S&W, K&N air filter with a lid, driveshaft loop, torque arm and 17" SS wheels from SLP,QA1 front shocks and springs, and Hypertech programming. The last few times at the track, some guys with 4 wheel drive trucks and modified LS motors have run faster than my Camaro. I've been embarrassed enough, and took out a home equity loan to improve it's performance. So I pose this question to the forum members: If you had $20,000 to spend on the above car, what would you buy? Right now I am thinking a Moser 9" rear with the same gear ratio and a true-trac or wave-lock, a beefed 4l60e or possibly a 4l80e, and a turnkey crate motor of about 600 hp from either Golen or Mast.Any opinions welcome.

Never been to NYIRP. How far is it from Buffalo? How do you like it?Other than LVD, I've been to Maplegrove Dragway in PA and US13 Dragway in Delaware for the Bracket Finals (a divisional race among NHRA tracks in the NE to determine champions to send to Pomona CA to race during the NHRA Finals).I have also been to Englishtown to spectate during the NHRA national event held there. Have you ever been to ESTA? I was thinking of racing there someday( my sister lives close to there).

I have personally never been to ESTA, but I know people who usually race at ESTA, and have raced at NYIRP too. From what I have experienced, and heard, NYIRP is hands down the best track in NYS. It takes about an hour from my house to NYIRP, and trust me, it is definitely worth it. I went there the second last day they were open last year, and had an absolute blast.

Thanks for the welcomes. It really does'nt make much sense to build a car when I see turn-key cars for the price of a built LS3. Still looking at both options.
