it can be done, but i wouldnt advise it. the only difference in the harness i can think of is the h20 sender. the 98 is a 3 wire and the 99+ is a 2 wire. as for the pcm differences, there is plenty! the 98 pcm isnt as effecient as the 99+. they are physically different also

From what I understand, you can repin the harness and use a newer PCM on a 98 harness. As per others advice on here, that is what I'm going to try and do with my 98 motor and harness and buy a newer PCM. I did a search on "repin" and founds some usefull info. However, I am speeking from what I've read and been told, and not personal experience. I may fail miserably. Is that harness for an auto or 6 speed? Would love to trade my auto harness for one for a t56.

Dude, theres no sense in purchasing another harness or repinning the harness for a different computer. If you plan on tuning the computer then you're saving that 3-400.00 dollars for a newer harness right there. I personnally have a 98' f-body setup with 243's,ls6 intake, and z06 cam with a competition port job dynoed by Dan Bills @ FinishLinePerformance in Naperville Il and the damn thing performs like a runaway train. SAVE THE MONEY and use what you have already.
