Default intake manifold

is there any way to tell the difference between an ls1 and ls6 intake manifold wen they are installed? ive been lookin into this but can only tell the difference if the 2 are not installed

A really quick way is checking for EGR. If the hose is coming up right behind the throttle body then you have EGR equipped, and it's MOST LIKELY a ls1 manifold. However, it could be a SLP ls6 manifold that has EGR on it, or someone could have removed EGR from an ls1 manifold.

Check here for part numbers to be sure.

You could also look and see if the coolant lines go back under the intake. On LS6 intakes, there is just a line running from one head to the other in the front and plugs in the back.

Unless they ground the the bottom of the intake for the LS1 coolant crossover lines.......
