not really. The ring gear and carrier is what usualy lets go. I believe there is a c'clip eliminator kit available but that would only help if you are road course racing. Not so much drag racing. Moser makes upgraded axles and MAC and TA make girdles, but I have never seen a cap break so I think they are just Gimmiks. The 10 bolt design that is in LS1 cars stems from a late 70's design for compact cars like Monzas and was designed for quiet running and low drag for low HP motors. Some how the carrier stayed relitvly the same throughout the years with differnt axle tube configurations for variouls applications such as S-10 trucks and G body's GM probably didnt want to invest in a new rear design with AAM just for the last few years so they built torque management tactis into our cars lile 2nd gear lock out and timing curves to prolong the life of driveline componunts, such as the weak rear. We delete and modify these perameters and brake rears constantly. Really no way around it unless you want to keep your car stock, drive easy or buy an upgraded S60 or 9 inch.
