so I had my car on a lift today and I put in a new transmission mount and everything was going alright till i was putting the crossmember back on and uh-oh...a bolt got rather easy to turn, then it happened to another! i was not putting a whole lot of force on either of them, 3/8 ratchet and normal tightening. I'm worried I stripped out the bolt holes, and didn't want to push my luck to try and see if it had threads left still. I couldn't wiggle it after i did it, but my car shakes at allllll speeds leading me to believe that they just arent gonna cut it as they sit. Any ideas?

I read somewhere that the nuts are inside the body of the car welded to the body. What typically happens is the welds break on the nuts and the nut starts spinning in there. Not sure a HeliCoil would do the job. I dont know if this information is 100% correct though, so TTT for you as I'm interested because I'm having a similar issue.

im hoping your welded nut info is true, i would feel much better about replacing a nut and tacking it down than using some helicoils.

so i took the carpet up today under the driver side floor mat and sure enough... no nuts. So it looks like I'm gonna be trying a helicoil. Side note, has anyone had experience with an energy suspension tranny mount? I have heard stuff about most aftermarket mounts creating a pinion angle problem. Does the energy suspension urethane mount have the same issue? I'm sure I can measure mine but I don't know how to be honest.

There's a nut under there, you have to cut the floorboard to get it. I dont suggest doing that

You could weld on a piece of bar stock (maybe 3/8" thk) with matching hole patterns tapped into it to the two sides and then put the same thickness spacer between the crossmember and the trans mount. Or do it from the inside, you'd have to cut a slot on the side of the chassis crossmember for that though...

Sometimes when you tap it, the weld breaks on the nut inside the floorboard, so be careful.

I drilled it out for a 7/16" Standard Bolt.
