Default how to get rid of wheel hop?

not really sure how to get rid of wheel hop, my friend has a 9" with 3.7X gears nitto DR bilstein shocks UMI LCA, stock pan hard bar n torque arm, n no sway bar at the moment (kinda scary driving but it's on order) anyways he ran his 97 SS at the track tonight and ran a 13.20 but could not stay consistent due to wheel hop... my question is how would you go about getting rid of that? would springs help? i know he could get much better shocks but i thought bilsteins would be good? let me know what yall guys think

A torque arm would be a huge help. The shocks would help too but i think the torque arm would help more

And some 3pt SFCs from UMI or SLP especially on a t-top car, plus he should get a tubular phb and some relocation brackets for his 9" rear. Then put the control arms in the lowest hole on the relocation brackets and his car should hook then.

Lower Control Arm Relocation Brackets is a good place to start.

Does the car hop only at the race track?

Worse on the street or track?

Wheel hop can have many different causes....

Hello
One of the best bangs for the $ is a set of LCARB's. But like mentioned above it can be anything such as spring and shock combo or even as little as the tires and tire pressure, and also if the vehicle is lowered. Below is a link to show you what all UMI Performance has to offer!

http://www.umiperformance.com/catalo...ex&cPath=7_138

If you have any other questions feel free to ask and I will be more than glad to help!
Thanks
Brad

Hello
I would suggest looking into a set of lower control arm relocation brackets. They will allow you to readjust the lower control arm so that is parallel to the surface. I am willing to be you will gain back a lot of your traction that you lost and fix your wheel hoping issues as well. I would also go with a little more tire pressure as well. If you have any other questions feel free to ask and I will be more than glad to help!
Thanks
Brad

Could no rear swaybar cause wheel hop? Or just major axle twist?

Sure can... without the rear swaybar the car will not load both tires properly which could lead to wheel hop.

So maybe the OP should start out by getting a rear swaybar in there. Then see if they are still getting wheel hop

Assuming the OP was talking about a rear swaybar...

Hello
No Problem Glad to help! I just want to throw this out there for you that we offer 2 different version we offer a 22mm for on the street (handling). And we also offer a drag bar set up (for at the track). Both will clear a 9" rear and If you have any other questions feel free to ask and I will be more than glad to help.
