Ebay gt45 on 5.3?
I'm getting ready to start my turbo build. Lookin at the el-cheapo ebay gt45 for my L33. Antone here have any experience with this combo? I've got a set of 317 heads and will be using a carb and truck manifolds. Any thoughts or advice will be appreciated. I don't need something that will light the world on fire but I don't want to start building boost at 5000rpm either. This is a 95% street car looking for 600ish at the crank. If I'm way off here could anybody suggest another budget turbo that would work in this case? Thanks!

Why would you ever ever buy an ebay turbo?? If you want a fast spool, get a Masterpower t70. I believe they are around 550$. OR get the t76 for a couple hundred more. You dont want chunks of that ebay turbo going into your engine and destroying it do you?

Seriously, not trying to start the "ebay turbo vs whatever" argument all over again. I've heard pretty good feedback from some people on another forum about them (cost considered) and was just simply curious. That's all. I've seen a few threads on here concerning budget builds and was just asking a simple question. Anyone tried one? What were your thoughts? NemeSS, the info on the guy you know was helpful. Thank you. Like I said, not trying to stir up ****, just asking a question.

I know, I was a little hesitant to even bring it up. I have heard decent things from some other people actually running one, and some bad stuff as well. I'm really considering just going for it, I've been told that it might be a bit small for what I wanted to do....We'll see.
