How do you check clutch freeplay?

I used a ruler to check it and I got anywhere from 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch. From what I have read this is normal.


The clutch just picked up this freeplay a few days ago. I guess it was still breaking in. It has about 1500 miles on it.

I swear it's more when it's running, but I'm not sure.

i have about an inch of play running or not on my 98
