Default opinions on best 88-91mm turbos

I'm collecting parts and info for my build, got the motor and heads and some of the stainless piping and figured it would be a good time to look for a turbo.... I like the new precision 91 with the t4 flange but its hard to find much information on them, the pt88 has pretty much proven itself on many of the builds on here.... but it seems easier to come across good deals on the 91.5 precision . I've also been looking at a gt-47 88 and a y2k 91, and i noticed on forced inductions site they have a budget gt91 and gt88 for like 1400 new!... just wondering what everyones opinion on the different options are, not necessarily just for my project but in general...

my good friend used an S88 borg warner air werks unit from forced inductions on his 01 Camaro SS 408 build. Went 9.1 @ 150 full weight street car on 17psi of boost. If i was going that big, there is no question as to what i would pick.

The new Budget based Garrett GT series of turbos gets my vote for a turbo with the oats to make the numbers and an afordable price that is with in reach of the average Joe. The air flow those units make is impressive. GT-76 @ 98lbs/min to the GT-91 @ 141lbs/min.

I have aslo had plenty of good results with the Air Werks S88.
The new T4 based 91mm has my intrests. I am waiting to see what some of the real world results are. I have alot of customers asking about that unit.

I have some stuff in the works that will used the tried and true Turbonetics TC Series of turbos and the New Garrett GT series of turbos. 2010 is gonna be a good year for the Boosted crowd.

I just got my hands on the new gt-88 garrett budget turbo. I wish it was in the car so I could give you some advise. My goal was a 408 but chose to go 370. For the price of the unit you can't beat it. If your going bigger c.i. I would try to stick with sopmethin thats runnin a t-6 flange. Good luck on your choice, Either one you choose should work just fine.

GT88 or GT91 is hard to beat. Also the S88 with its new pricing is hard to beat too.

Big difference between a 91.5 and GT91. The 91.5 is about twice as big as the GT91 since its a full frame Thumper. The GT91 is a mid-frame unit.

i didnt even think about that ... whats the new pricing on the s88 ...also i'm guessing that the new 91from precision is a mid frame turbo with a t4 flange... space is definately an issue on my setup as i will be keeping a c and would like to put the turbo where the battery is stock
