Pick Me a Cam: MS3 or TR Raptor
I have a 00 Camaro SS M6, I still have LT's, off-road Y and SLP cat-back, DFX Clutch, stock LS1 intake and I believe I have the 843 casting heads. My next mod after the cam will most likely be an LS6 intake. I have all winter. I am wanting to do a cam only build for right now. I was pretty stuck on the MS3 and then I came across the TR Raptor. Will I be able to install both of these cams without having to flycut the pistons? What would be my best option?
Thank-you all in advance.

well what are you wanting from your set up? what are the goals for the car? also i would definitly do gears in the car. i would go with a 4.10 with a cam that size and a m6. also i try to get that intake asap and make sure u have a good tuner

I am wanting a good sounding cruise-in car and a decent track car. I am planning on doing gears after winter. Also I have a good tuner, One of my really good friends own's Precision Autosports out of Dayton, OH and he is really reputable.

i meen the ms3 is a big cam and is going to require gears for the most part. but i meen try a search and see the different cams out there. something like the 228 is a great cam. a lot of people on here use them and love them. something like the ms3 is going to make more top end power and not so much down low. your best bet is to talk to predator or pat g on here. they are the cam experts and can spec you out exactly what you are looking for. i honestly would never buy an off the shelf cam. i would only go custom

I can really only speak on behalf of the RapTR camshaft, but I can tell you for a camshaft of its size, it drives great on the street. I have actually had a few customer cars in the shop crank and run on a stock tune before we got it on the dyno. There is no flycutting needed when using this camshaft also. This particular camshaft makes plenty of midrange and top end power without sacrificing the bottom end torque like you do with some of the bigger camshafts on the market like the TRex. This is also one of the cams you can grow with down the road. What I mean by that is, it works well with most aftermarket cylinder heads, where as a lot of shelf camshafts are designed around the stock cylinder heads.
