Ok im going to install a ls6 intake and some headers soon and was wondering if I have to buy a torque wrench and torque the ls6 intake and header bolts to a specific torque spec with a torque sequence? Or can I just use a ratchet and/or wrench until the bolts are nice and tight? thanks

Yes you'll need a 1/4" drive, (inch #) torque wrench. The headers and intake have a torque spec and sequence.

I'll bet you the majority of people here don't use a torque wrench for either an intake or header install.

There is a spec and sequence for both. If you are new to doing either type of install it may be to your advantage to get an inch pound tq wrench to prevent any damage to the bolts/threads. For people that have experience installing these items the tq wrench is not necessary.

I believe the torque spec on header bolts is 18-22 ft/lb. I don't think there is an actual sequence that is necessary to follow, but what I did was start in the center of the flange and then work my way towards the outside, alternating between the front and the rear bolts.
