Question Did I harm my engine by doing this?????

Hey guys im worried I might have gotten moisture or debris into my engine through the intake. I took my TB off to P&P it. I did put a rag blocking the inlet but when I finally got around to putting the TB back on (5 days later) the rag had fallen out.. It has been raining alot here and I couldnt get outside to put it back on..Is there anything I can do berfore startup to maybe try and clean it out or do I even have anything to worry about at all? PLEASE HELP!!!

I would look in the intake itself and see if you can see any debris. If it looks clean chances are you are fine. However, if it were me, I would pull the intake off the car and check both the intake runners as well was the intake runner. Make sure everything is clean and put it back together and it should be fine.

^ Agreed for sure. Since the intake is so easy to pop off, it's cheap insurance to check it out.

With aluminum heads, and bronze valve guides, I don't think you'll have anything to worry about

Ive left motors out with just a sock on the TB over the winter, although I do not recomend it, it ran strong with no oil consumption.

Im sure you are fine as long as no debri went inside
